Lavender Shift Work Sleep Disorder Platform

Lavender is a personalized sleep solution for shift workers that combines sleep psychology research and innovative solutions to optimize rest.

What’s the problem?

10-40% of shift workers struggle with shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), a sleep disorder in which work shifts mis-aligned with natural patterns of day and night disrupt a patient’s “body clock.” SWSD can lead to insomnia, fatigue, cognitive issues, and other problems.

Why Lavender?

Many individuals with SWSD connect with sleep psychologists and researchers. Commonly, these individuals need to communicate their sleep and work schedules to receive sleep schedule recommendations.

Sleep time and schedule information can be hard to communicate! Lavender prioritizes usability and practicality to make the process of recording and communicating this information as easy as possible.

Who uses Lavender? Can I use Lavender?

Lavender aims to provide solutions for two types of users: participants in receiving treatment for SWSD and providers who provide those solutions.

Participants

We’re hoping to test with participants under Dr. Jessee Dietch, our project partner and Assistant Professor at the Oregon State University School of Psychological Science.

We are currently not accepting individual participant applications; please reach out to a researcher or provider to get access to Lavender.

Once you have received access to Lavender, read our participant user guide here!

Providers

Providers are sleep psychologists and researchers who use Lavender to help their patients manage SWSD. They can view patient sleep schedules, provide recommendations, and track progress over time.

We are currently not accepting new provider applications. If you are a sleep psychologist or researcher interested in using Lavender, please reach out to us through any of the methods listed on our Contact page.

Read our provider user guide here!

I’m a developer; what can I do?

Currently, Lavender is a closed-source project. While we’re not accepting contributions at this time, we may open source the project in the future. If you’re interested in contributing when that happens, keep an eye on our GitHub repository for updates! Note that the repository is currently private and not viewable, but this may change in the future.
